Starr DA Value?

I have had this Starr since 1943, paid $24 it then in San Francisco. Took it to LGS & was offered $1800 for it, saying is an 80% gun and would be worth more if it were better. Does 1800 mean a retail value might be 2400?

Any info, comments, etc. welcome.

It's a real inspector's mark, another same on the other side. I read somewhere due probably to the Starr DA wacky mechanism or maybe it's bore a little bigger than the Colt or Remington of the period, few were issue for use in the Civil War. Sold surplus after the war, they are often seen in nice condition. Starr also made a SA version that was successful, I think total number Starrs mfg-ed was around 30K, DAs about a quarter of the total making them a scarce collectible.
