Cool, but the clones of the StG 44 which are/were made recently in a limited run were going for over $4k. I like to have nice centerfires with .22 surrogates. A bit spendy for this pair.

The only CA laws that pertain to the gun mentioned (22 LR assault weapon AW clone) would be the ten round magazine law. The CA AW ban law starts with the premiss that it covers only centerfire guns.

According to yesterday's Guns America email, the .22 version of the StG 44 is being made by GSG of stamped metal (like the original) and has the identical weight of the original. It will retail for $599.

I saw somewhere that ammo is available for the original configuration, but the only price I saw was very high.

    I don't know if I need an 11 lb. .22.

Pretty unique. More so than the plethora of expensive AR-style .22s.

I`m over the moon with this coming available,I purchased the real item back in 1986,a batch had been released in the UK from East Germany, mine was s/n1583/44.I could even fire a few rds one handed before it became to heavy to hold up.In 1997 our Govt decreed that C/F rifles of this type were No-Nos and had to be handed in.( Was paid the full market value at that time though ) Its now on show in our local Military museau. I still have the spare mag for it,plus 1800 odd rds of grn laquered 7.92 Kurtz that they didn`t want. trouble is it doesn`t fit anything else.So being able to buy a copy in usable order,( should be very good with Mini-Mags etc) will make my day. Roll on June or July when they come on line.
