Just purchased a new Taurus 1911. Just wondering if there are any recomendations for reloads. I know the owners manual says warranty void with reloads but I am sure most manuals state this. I have been using Win 231 5.7 gr. with a FMJ RN 230 gr. bullet for my Springfield 45. I would think this would be an appropriate range load for the Taurus as well. Any experience with the Taurus 1911 would be appreciated.

IMO, you are on the right track but thats pretty close to max load for 231 and a 230 gr bullet in the .45ACP. I load for a PT1911 and I like 5.0 gr WW231 under 230 gr cast lead. Nice range load, moderate recoil, and dead on accurate... I have one other if you like commercial cast bullets. 4.5 gr. titegroup under 225 gr lasercast. It too is super accurate. One other is 4.5 gr Titegroup under Hornady XTP 230 gr. It also is very accurate. None of these loads are heavy kickers and the XTP actually expands in water at the reduced velocity. If you look at your reloading data as a gas guage start being E and max being F, these loads are on 1/2 tank...;)

Thanks, I will start at 5.0 gr. and go from there.
