There is a fine military museum at Camp Mabry Austin Texas that is not widely known. It is well worth a stop and a visit when in the area of Austin TX. Much Texas military history and US military history there to see. A half or whole day can be spent viewing the displays. Makes one proud to be a Texan. Camp Mabry is the headquarters of the Texas National Guard and the Texas State Guard. I am in the Texas State Guard. Civilians may enter the base and museum with a photo ID by presenting it at the main gate. There is also a base exchange for those with military ID.
