I'd like to take this opportunity to once again bring to your attention Democratic Governor Pat Quinn of Illinois. Earlier this year he refused to sign a CCW bill that had finally made it through the Illinois Senate, keeping Illinois as the only state in the union with no provision whatsoever for concealed carry.

He has, in fact, made more and more Illinois citizens unarmed victims.

Illinois has the vaunted FOID card, required for all law-abiding citizens to buy guns and ammo.

Criminals could care less. They continue to be armed, and are completely unaffected by the FOID provisions and laws against concealed carry.

    Case in point.

Yesterday afternoon, 4:19 p.m. University of Illinois campus in Urbana, in the far mid-western part of the state. Broad friggin daylight.

The U of I campus has been plagued over the past year by blacks who go "polar bear hunting" on campus, attacking and robbing dozens of students. This guy got off "lucky" in that he wasn't beaten.

Scumbag No. 1 steals his iPad and runs. Scumbag No. 2 steps up and displays a handgun in the waistband of his shorts. It was caught on a security camera across the street.

So, Governor Quinn, you gutless pawn of the Chicago Political Machine, if you're tuned in, why do you suppose this trash feels such freedom to run rampant on a state university campus? Could it be because no one is armed except for THEM?

first three things the illinois Q ball did when the cook county stooges re elected him..................

    1. eliminate the death penalty
    2. raise income taxes 67% and double the corporate tax.
    3. reinstate the inheritance tax on estates.

Michael J. Madigan, the grand high exhalted wizard, of the good ol' boy, inner circle, controls every thing (including "Q" ball) that happens in the "land of lincoln"

even hilter would be in in awe of his power.

Joe, I pray for you often because you live next door to me in the Communist State of Illinois! That being said, I know you can take care of yourself. Godspeed!

If only my grandchildren didn't live in Illinois I'd drive an extra 500 miles to make sure I didn't get to close to that cesspool.

It will go to the Supreme Court of the United States. It's Illinois. They are all against state rights until it comes to firearms. Just like they had to fight it in court just to try to say that McDonald couldn't own a handgun in Chicago. Sad. Just wait. It will only get worse nation-wide now that we have a liberal majority on the US Supreme Court with the addition of Elana Kagan.

I appreciate your prayers, A.L. By and large the people of Illinois are hard-working small town country folk, but are constantly overshadowed by Chicago and the havoc that liberal, socialist, and welfare programs have wreaked on this state. Lincoln would be appalled. God willing, we'll be out of here next summer, heading west for mountains and open spaces and a better way of life.

I believe Illinois holds the national record for the highest number of former governors who have been imprisoned.

This state is by far the worse place anyone could pick to live. If I could move my business without killing it, I would. No one that should care does, government employees don't work, Illinois is by far the armpit of the United States!!! And they wonder why as people can, the droves!!

Does anyone question the gun control mindset of the present occupant of the White House? Examine his voting record while a state representative in Illinois!

A year ago my son, who was a senior at U of I, was jumped and beaten by a group of black kids while walking home from a bar on Green St. He was beaten so badly he almost lost sight in one eye. Police never found the kids who did it, and they probably didn't even bother to look for them.

Last weekend he went down to Champaign-Urbana to visit his girlfriend, who is still in school. He was walking back to his girlfriend's apartment from a friend's house late at night and he got jumped again and robbed of his high-priced smart phone. They snuck up behind him and he never saw it coming. He had to go to the E.R. after the police arrived.

I don't need to tell you what I'd do to those poor young disenfranchised African-Americans if I ever got my hands on them. I wish I could give my son a small carry gun to protect himself, but here in Illinois he'd likely go to prison for having it or for being forced to use it. So I'm going to get him a good defense blade to carry.

When he was in high school here in Evanston, he was sitting at a stop light around midnight when the passenger door opened and a poor young disenfranchised African-American got in, put a pistol to his head and told him to get out of the car. When my son hesitated, the poor young disenfranchised African-American smacked him on the forehead with the pistol's slide. My son then pulled the keys out of the ignition, jumped out the door and hauled ass down the street. He heard the guy yelling, then heard a gunshot. The gun may or may not have been aimed at him, but fortunately he didn't get hit.

I'm glad the State of Illinois is looking after the rights of criminals to arm themselves.

It is indeed true that campus cops in Illinois have a poor reputation - seems they're all about revenue (fines for public intoxication and jaywalking) and very little 'protect and serve' the students.

I am very sorry to hear this. There is only so far people can be pushed and right now they have you guys in a corner down there. I'm not condoning vigilantism, but I don't understand why people listen to the law when all it does is put them in harm's way.

I don't get how Quinn can let stuff like this go on and not get recalled or voted out of office.

That's what I am afraid of happening here in Wisconsin. If the liberals get back in, Concealed Carry law signed by Governor Walker will be a major issue for them. Granted we don't have a very high crime rate at all outside of Milwaukee or Janesville, if stuff like you described was going on in my area, I could care less what the law says. I have a right to defend myself. That comes from God, not from a government or a bureaucracy who decides I am allowed to.

When injustice becomes the law, resistance is duty. I know I am talking all big and tough on the internet, but when you're facing things like you described, common sense would dictate to stop following these laws that are getting you in harm's way. I would rather go down defending what was right rather than continue being a victim.

What's more important? Your life or abiding by some ignorant law created by people who never had to deal with this stuff at any point in their life?

I'm not condoning vigilantism, I am saying stand up for yourself.

The law, for better or for worse is a powerful enemy. What's more, you are paying the salaries of those who put you in harm's way or make you a victim. The Chicago Machine can out vote the collective electorate of the rest of the state of IL. The logical response, to me, would be to move out of the state or at least Cook County. When all that are left are those on the dole, the libs will bail like rats from a sinking ship. If building a wall on the border between the U.S. and Mexico works, we should build one around IL. Who do you think is going to stand by you when you end up in the pokey for exercising your perceived right to defend yourself? And that is if you're lucky enough to survive your arrest.
