I have a The American Double Action revolver.
Can anyone tell me the caliber, the model #, and the year it produced?

    firekidd,
You have a 1st Model (flat recoil shield, should have a round head hammer screw) AMERICAN DOUBLE ACTION 4th Variation (company name and address stamped into left barrel flat). Without a cartridge stamp on the left side under the address block: It was made to be suitable for BLACK POWDER loads only.
It appears, from the pics to have a fairly scarce blued finish - but the condition is less than "collector grade".
The "markings" stamped into the butt strap are not factory original.
Here's a pic of a "blued" piece from the same era as yours - note that the blued examples from this time period are most often seen finish is fair condition - that's why most of the guns were Nickel plated - it resisted wear and corrosion much better, especially for a "pocket pistol".
