Really? How much good legislation has been introduced, and how much bad legislation has been stopped since the last election? We are financially operating on our country's third continuing resolution since last October. Obamacare is still a fact of life. They are still coming after our guns. We are now in a third (or fourth, depending on how you look at it) war. We still have illegals flooding in across our southern border. I could go on and on and on. Replacing two or three bad politicians a year will not even come close to getting us out of the mess we're in. It will take a major overhaul. That won't happen until people wake up and realize the place that we are as a nation. Unfortunately, though, in this self-centered country, that won't happen until it is far too late.

In my opinion they will repeal obamacare. No-one has touched any of my guns. I dont consider Libya to be a war(yet). I agree with you about the illegal's. I think there are more americans aware of whats going on than you think. I dont think its too late to stop the progressive's or shoddy politicians from destroying this country. Maybe thats the optimist in me. I dont consider myself self centered so I wouldnt know about that.

Let's not forget that little gem of a Bill that just got passed. And some of our new Ultra Conseritives voted for it ........ S. 510: FDA Food Safety Modernization Act! If you haven't read this bill, you need to. I've read it, and I can tell you that this bill alone will give the Federal Government all the control over you, and I, that they need. This Bill is now law, and it will be illegal for you to grow your own food, once it's in place.

Do most people really think the feds will be able to stop people from growing their own gardens? They'd have a war on their hands the same if they tried disarming America. Maybe "O " will bring in the blue hats to help out; after they get Africans in Ruwanda to stop chopping off body parts. It's like blk helicopters all over again and I lost interest in those such things in the early 90's. I must be the crazy one I guess; I just don't see it in the cards.

No offense but I heard that the regs were about commercial food production, not that I agree with it; but kinda how it gets interpreted that gets people upset. I expect many of these regs & laws will be reversed when the Repubs get back in.

We have a few AR's and enough ammo that my grandkids will still be firing clips off into the sky. If the day ever comes, I do believe enough of Americans will be ready to stop any attempts at taking our freedoms. Maybe it's living in Alaska and knowing our state govt will oppose with force any such disregard of rights from the feds.

I just wish ole "O" would hurry up and try some of these things, so everybody would see the king has no clothes. Laws only work when people respect and collectively obey them; no joke.

I can think of several ways the fed could inhibit/prohibit back-yard gardens.........

    Offhand in no particular order:

    1. Declare all seedlings/seeds "contaminated" with any of dozens of diseases, (Xanthomonas comes readily to mind), and prohibit sales or destroy them as a "vital protective service"......

    2. Declare all undertaking such efforts "domestic terrorists" .

    3. Require all "gardening" of foodstuffs be registered with USDA, then make the process so complex and delayed as to make the effort worthless.....

    4. Issue ration books and require all foodstuff garden products be accounted for and checked off against the "national ration"......[BTW, if you don't grasp how this works, go ask grandpa/ma how their parents coped with it.]

    5. Seize control of all seed sources as a "strategic national resource".

Yeah, I know you're all thinking "It won't happen".........But GM is now "Government Motors"......As is Chrysler. And "Obama Care" is going to open the data bank floodgates for intergovernmental mining of personal data that will trace your every action and restrict your constitutionally guaranteed "rights" under a host of pogroms and "protective'" restrictions. If a government agency, DHS, can almost pull off a "terrorist training secenario" depicting predomintly white, church-going Christian, ex-military, conservative supporting populace as "terrorists" in "Heartland America" aka Pottawamaie Cty, I, where does it stop ? >MW

Ya know, I hate what "O" has done over the last couple years as much as anybody. The fiscal & economic problems bother me more and will affect all of us way more than all the crazy ex orders that have been the law for many decades.

I still believe that "O" will only be able to go so far, then It will all back fire on him. I do also believe last Nov election is the writing on the wall for the demise of his ideas. I just hope the dollar, all our 401's, and our financial security doesn't collapse. I figure that he is trying to crash everything in order to force through an added value tax. Somehow, I don't think it will fly.

Our country has went through changes from the alien & sedition act in late 1790's to present day miscarriages of constitutional rights; but we always seem to make it through as a Nation. I still have faith in our system, call me crazy; but I believe it will all come back around and our Nation will be better for it; look at the tea party and it's growing influence; maybe the tea party will be majority main stream thought soon enough; heck I think it is already.

Maybe it's because I live in Alaska; pretty conservative place. We live on the Yukon, quite rural; all kinds of freedom that doesn't exist back east. We have left wing greenies in our community too; but they are laughed at, not taken serious at all and they are letter writers. Whenever they attempt to change things; the majority puts them back in their place. I think it's like that over much of main stream America too.

We have a couple Germans, been here for 30 years, I call them socialists, that's how left wing they are. Once the one lady was at school meeting and started going on about how in her country (germany), the govt paid for everything. The fat people paid more taxes, ect. I told her if Germany was such a shan gri la, why is she still here in Ak, I then told her that in America if you work hard, you get fat She stormed outta the place after I mentioned that the Russkies should have got her too. But ya know, most everybody in the community thinks those greenies are jokes and whatever changes those Germans try are quickly beat down by the majority.

Wait until nx election, big change is coming and the dems will feel awful lonely once again. Common sense is very basic to most Americans.
