S & w answer to tarus judge..the all new Govenor!! out ranked? outclassed?
out chambered? as it not only matches the judges chambering in .410 and 45lc but does it one better with .45 apc!!

goes to show thar maybe tarus was onto a good thing??
and i see the suggested retail is the same as i paid for my 4" judge!

What else! If anyone comes up with a good idea, everyone wants in on it, and that's good! We started out with a hand gun that would shoot two different cartriges, and now we have one that shoots three!

Heres the deal. The Judge shoots 2 calibers but neither all that well. Now the Governor shoots 3 calibers. And yes once again, non of them all that well. So which one has the advantage?

I think that APC stands for A** Puncture Caliber - its also chambered in GLock's entry to the Judge/Governor style firearm, the Glock Proctologist. ;)

I'm sure S&W was looking at jumping on the band wagon
of what Taurus did.Sold millions of these things.Of course they
may be a tad late. Most of the fad is gone.Performance of the
Judge originally was horrible.I myself was ready to
throw it in the back of the gun case and forget it.
I didn't buy mine for the .45 Colt,it was for the
curiousity of the .410 capability.Of course you
couldn't get any kind of group out of it.Then
came along the Federal handgun 000 Buckshot
made especially for the Judge.Wow!Just one big
hole at 20 feet.It went from being a lemon to
lemonade with one special round. If the S&W
Governor does as well? The .45 ACP may be
a bit short. It seems to have to travel a long
way to exit the cylinder to enter the chamber for
any decent accuracy.Who knows?Maybe they have
    that figured out already?

I've owned a Taurus Judge Ultra-Lite for close to 3 years now. It really does shoot 45LC better then some are giving it credit for on here. At 25 yards I get nice tight groups from this gun shooting Hornady xtp ammo. The Federal410 000 buckshot shells are effective at 10 yards and closer for SD. It isn't the best 45 revolver out there nor is it the best 410 shotgun either, but for a gun that I can wear on my side and load with both ammo, it does what I need it to.

Well, I sell the judge for 439.00. The smith is quite a bit more.

Taurus didn't stay outgunned for long. They now produce the "Raging Judge" in 28 gauge. I have a Judge ultra light and I like it as a snake gun. I have plenty others I trust for CCW.

I bet the S&W version can shoot 45 GAP in them same moonclips. So its really a 4 cartridge pistol. For people like me with a good stock of 45GAP that makes it look even better, but I allready have plenty of 45 Colt too. They just dont make HST in 45 Colt though.........

My 410, 45 Colt pistol is a 10" barrel singleshot Super Comanche though and it has an honest fullchoke straight rifled choke I can put in it. The freaking pattern is as tight as my 410 shotguns at 25 yards. I take more than alot of game with it...........

i have a solution! rifled CYLINDER!

in all seriousness though ive hunted with my 6in judge several times and ive dropped my deer every time i fired a round. i dont have the steadiest hands in the world by any stretch but i can manage 4 inch groups fairly often from 25 yards with the judge with my usual group being dinner plate size from that range. i can get a little better than that with the old G21 but that's only because i cheat with the laser. i imagine the accuracy of MINE can be entirely attributed to the barrel length and that the shorter versions would be garbage but that can be said for any short barreled revolver.
