Tried something new on the smoker

    Home made smoked mac & cheese is the best!

    Made that and took a beef ring bologna, scored the skin around it, basted it with bbq sauce & a small amount of rub and put it along with the mac & cheese on the smoker for about and hour @ 275* with some cherry wood for flavor and .......dam that was good. ;)

    The mixture goes into a 8x8 foil pan.

    Next time it will be a bigger batch with some extras like maybe some pre smoked bell peppers, bacon, maybe some different cheeses as well. I used a mix of Velveeta & cheddar. Not a big fan of pure Velveeta but using it as part of a blend was tasty.

    Sounds good. For the 4th we smoked a prime rib ans some hot Italian sausage. We love smoked foods. We have a friend that was telling us about cooking home made pizza on the BBQ. We want to try that soon.

    MMMM....that sounds good! Might have to pass on some Thin Mint to try that smoked mac and cheese!

    No but another on my list. I have done Talapia filets on the smoker with some butter and lemon pepper, good eats right there.;)

    Sounds good to me.

    Salmon with hickory, trout with cherry, pork chops with apple, turkey breast with apple. Hell, anything smoked is good.

    Salmon with alder. Apple or cherry in a pinch. Hickory? NO. :mad:
    Everything is better with alder. ;)

    I'm gonna try the mac and cheese tho. Sounds delish.
