I have a Taurus Model 85 (J-frame, 2 inch barrel) that I like to pocket carry. Unfortunately, it doesn't fit in all my pockets (particularly most of my jeans).

I know that the front hip pocket is a rather common place to carry this type of gun, so there are clearly some clothing options that work well for this. Does anyone have any suggestions on brands, styles, etc. that work well?

I carry a 2" Smith J frame in my right front pocket. I've carried it, successfully, in Rustler brand jeans (Wrangler's cheap brand), and in Puritan slacks (I think that's a Walmart brand, maybe Target).

Something you might consider, if you or someone in your household is handing with sewing, is replacing the pocket. First, those pockets are mighty flimsy, anyway. Get some flour-sack material, and have a new pocket made. Much stronger than the original pocket, and you can make sure it is large enough to hide the gun.

I perfer Wrangler and Levi relaxed fit jeans for pocket carry. Pleated "Docker" style trousers also work well for me.

    Wranglers work well.

First time poster here. Pocket carrier for 4 years.

Best pants/shorts I have found for pocket carry are the Columbia Lander.
Do a search on line. Waist size is actual, length right on.

Pocket behind a pocket, nice and deep with a zipper. Not too tactical nice pocket for a knife or flashlight too.

Nice because you can even use your Hogue Mongrips on a J Frame and not expose the butt.

My EDC is a M&P 340 with CT 405 grips in a Mika Roundcut Holster.

Thanks Johnny! Those look really good, and I have a Colombia store right down the road from me. Looks like I'll be in there in a hurry.
