    Good afternoon.
I am a new member. I was with the 5th S.F. Group, Hunter Killer Team, then I pulled lots of LRRP's. I pulled tours!

  4. Gulf of Tonkin to Cambodia as part of operation Sealord.

The Canberra was the senior command for naval forces during Seadragon in the spring of 67 and operated off the DMZ then, were you there?

  5. The Brigade was there from Spring 68 to July 71.
I was there from Oct 69 to Oct 70.

  6. When you were there I was on the USS Truxtun DLGN-35, for my second tour doing air control in the Gulf of Tonkin. You know how it is, you love it so much the first time you just gotta go back again. I was on my way back for a 3rd time when I hurt my knee and had surgery. They sent me to shore duty instead, broke my widdy biddy heart all to pieces....NOT.

    Re: Vietnam unit patches

    Old Grump,
I was USAF enlisted. Began my Vietnam tour at Bien Hoa AB fixing F-100's. I had an opportunity to transfer into Operation "Red Leaf". That's when the Air Force took control of the fixed-winged aircraft in Vietnam. I was assigned to the Army 92nd Aviation Co. in Qui Nhon for a brief training and transition period in Dec. 1966. On 01 Jan. 1967 went to Phu Cat AB for the remainder of my tour working the hydraulic systems on the C-7A Caribou. You Army guys may be familiar with it. Several attachments may be of interest to you.

Patch of the 173D Airborne Brigade. I served 19 months in it out of L.Z. Uplift. One hell of a unit!
