Walmart: Lead and copper remover recalled - no longer for sale!

I went in to Wally World this a.m. and picked up a bottle of liquid Tipton copper and lead remover that was stocked on their shelf for a revolver that is plugged from lead re-loads.

When the item was scanned at the register, the cashier said the product had been recalled and cannot be sold. NO EXCEPTIONS - FEDERAL LAW!

I went to a LGS and bought the same product. The owner said it has been on the shelf for a while and he had not heard about any recall.

Is this another assault on our hobby by the EPA or other federal gun-grabbing agency?

Interesting.

I can't find the product you speak of.

I got to Tipton's website and they only make one liquid. A bore cleaner.

They do make a "lead removal cloth", but no lead or copper removal liquid.

Shooters Choice is the only one I can find that makes a specific "lead remover" liquid and "copper remover" liquids, and they are two different products, as apparently the lead remover does not work on copper, and vice/versa.

Regardless, I can find nothing on either website about there being a recall.

Hmmm. I would tend to believe a Gun Shop owner over a gun counter clerk at a mega box store. If there were a Federal regulation assault on gun cleaning products I believe someone (like the NRA) would have made it public...
