Well I was introduced to this forum a few months ago when I was first starting into pistol shooting as I have allways been partial to rifles. My first purchase was a Ruger MKII and now I am looking to move up some. I grew up with my father's and grandfather's .45's and am used to the 1911 grip angle and would prefer to stick with that as it is comfortable to me. Allready owning a .45 Colt, I would like to try out a .38 super and get a .22 conversion for it.

Reason for the .38 super is I want a pistol with less recoil then a .45. I am getting married in a few months and want to mainly get this pistol for my fiancee.

Any suggestions as to the maker I should consider would be much appreciated. Trying to stay in the $600s if possible.

the .38 super still packs some punch there muzzle energy is comparable with the .45ACP, have you thought about a 9mm?. i know springfield makes a nice one:)
