weaver B4 scope

    im looking at an old savage .22 pump marked sears and robuck ranger.its topped with a weaver B4 scope.bluing is good withslight surface rust on one side.optics are clear.what is the scope worth and were these guns originally tapped for scopes?

    The Savage 29B was grooved for tip off scope mounts in the mid 50's I think. None were D & T as a matter of course by the factory. Not sure what Sears had Savage do though.

    The Weaver B4 isn't worth much. If you are trying to factor it into the cost of the rifle, I wouldn't but that's just me.

    The B4 scopes are selling for about $40.00 on ebay--less if the optics are cloudy or it is rusted badly.
