What do you think of my homemade wood grips?

I thought I would try my hand at making some new wood grips for my
New Ruger Vaquero .45. I had some aged maple from the old foot board
from an old bed. I made many stocks from blanks but never handgun grips.
They are finished with Tru-oil, and I think they have a nice look and feel to them. I had rosewood grips from Altamont that I bought but they seem too thin. I made mine with the square butt, and flat sides thicker through the
the whole grip for better control and comfort.
What do you think?

Those look good!

I know what you mean about some grips being too thin -
I felt that way with my 1911, so carved out a pair that were considerably thicker. It fits my rather large paw now MUCH better than it used to!
