What kind of .357 Magnum ammo do you carry?

    semi jacketed flat point?
    semi jacketed hollow point?

    Typically, I carry Remington Semi Jacketed Hollowpoint 180 gr and a reload
    and in my pocket, 2 speedloader full of Buffalo Bore 180 gr Flat point.

    Type of gun: 6 inch S&W M-28 Highway Patrolman
    or 4 inch Colt Python

    I prefer 158 gr. XTPs. pushing somewhere around 1400 fps by a stout charge of hodgdon lil gun. Been using this load for about 5 years and it hasnt failed me yet...

    Lyman cast 222 grain semi wadcutter loaded to 1100 fps out of 6" GP100. This is the bullet originally designed for the 357 Maximum and I was luck enough to get one of the molds. Penetration and retained energy even at 200 yards is impressive. Col Fackler formerly of the Army
    Wound Ballistic Lab thought this bullet at 800 fps would go slam through the biggest youngun that could be found so I figure 1100 is about right. I orginally had it loaded to 1200 but accuracy seems better at 1100 and I am not getting any signs of excess pressure, just ran out of propellant room due the fact the bullet seats so far down in case. Have not chronographed it from 4" yet.
