My first 22 I woned was a M&P 15-22. I know it isn't as classic as some of the others listed. But I love it. My 9 Year old son loves it too. Hopefully, one day he will post on a forum somewhere about having fond memories with poppa shooting the little black gun that could

A Sears single shot bolt action that was an awesome shooter. I regret getting rid of it to pay bills in my early 20s.

Ruger Mark II Target 6 7/8 in barrel stainless steel ,still have it. Probably have about 10,000 rounds through it. Its been back to the ruger factoy 2 times at no cost to me, one of the most accurate guns I have ever owned.Bought it at a pawn shop over 20 years ago think I paid $175 or $200.

My Grandpa gave me my first .22 It was a Wards WesternField pump with a tubular mag. It shoots short, long or long rifle. I stll have it. I took it out and fixed the breech on it a couple of yrs ago. I quit shooting it because there was movement in the breech. Didn't know what I was doing but it went back together and works! So it is back in the safe, not worth much but will never be sold.

Remington Nylon 66. I beleive it was called Apache Black. Chromed receiver and barrel. Has a Bushnell .22 varmint scope. Bought it about 40 years ago. It 's been a great little rifle.

My first .22 is actually a combo gun. It's a Savage .22/20. I still have and shoot it.

For me a full stock Mossberg 151M, the first series with a brass magazine tube. It is/was capable of hitting 12 gauage shot shells at 75 yards with ammo it liked. Still have it in the safe.
