I just wanted to start a thing of what is peoples favorite gun and why.

My favorite gun is a .22 rifle (Remington 597) Because they are very reliable and if you have a decent shot you the gun is very accurate and they are for the most part low maintenance.

EVERYONE FEEL FREE TO TELL WHAT YOUR FAVORITE GUN IS AND WHY

The 1911 is my favorite. The platform is rather old, but the shooting, natural aim, trigger, ergonomics, handling, and even the mystic of the weapon NEVER seems to grow old. The 1911 has its own built in tool box in case one ever has a problem - which is rare in a quality made one. Moreover, it is available in many calibers.

Plus, they are just plain nice looking weapons - a sample:

i love all my firearms.. but i think my favorite has to be my rifle that belonged to my great grandpa. a steven's model 87d .22 semi-auto. its just a great shooting rifle. my winchester 9422 lever action .22 that belonged to my grandpa and my Hawkeye .308 would be in the running too

I completely agree that is a great gun. That gun will never be a bad one as long as it is around.

This is a multiple choice question, right? ;) :D
    Gabob nailed it.
Every gun I own is a favorite or I wouldn't own it.
That being said, I guess 2 of my favorite "favorites" would be my Les Baer Super-Tac 1911 and my Shilen action Bench Rest rifle currently chambered in .308 Win. & .30 I.H.M.S.A. :)

This is a good thread that pops up now and then. Right now, my favorite is my '53 Ruger 4 3/4" Standard. It's been a holster gun all it's life. The old Lawrence holster has molded to its' shape after 55 years. It acquired the old walnut grips somewhere along the line. I love it because it looks like some WWII bring back. It has been a field companion, loved and well taken care of all these years. The blue is worn where it fits in the holster, but no rust or pits anywhere. It doesn't have any hang ups. The springs are well worked in, it's accurate and completely reliable. Definitely not a safe queen, but a well used, not abused, pistol. I'd guess I have to say it's my favorite among many runner-ups. Who knows, there's still time for another to nose in there. TJ

LOL that is a toughie, since I havent gotten to shoot everyone I have seen, currently I would have to say that my New Vaquero .357 is my favorite. Although I do like my 22's shotguns and deer rifle's.Each having its own job and memories.

    Definitely a multi level question.
Do you mean the last one that you'd give up,
the 'one 'to take when shtf.
    the one that's purdest.
    or you'r favorite shooter.
    each tool has a purpose.;)
