I did a search and didn't find any discussions on this in the TFF. So here's the question. In your opinion from #10-#1, what do you think were the best combat rifles of WWII (era) and if not too much trouble, a little cretique of each? I've spent the last couple of months reading and researching and really haven't seen a good list published. In all the lists I've seen, they want to throw in sub-machine-guns and to me the list gets cut short because of it. So far in my collection I have:
Mosin Nagant 91/30: well built, easy to get replacement parts, man sized accurate at 300 yards and ammo is still easy to come by.
Arisaka T38: good shooter, fist sized groups at 200 yards, I have to make my own ammo.
Mosin Nagant M44: TBD, I pick it up this Friday.
Yugo M48: TBD, I pick this up Friday too. 8mm Mauser ammo isn't so easy to come buy. I paid $80 for two boxes of Hornaday's. I'll be reloading this one too.
