Please tell me what this gun is worth.
Winchester 1890 22 short, 2nd model, made in 1905, standard version, solid frame receiver, blued frame, serial number 247329. According to www.homesteadfirearms.com the condition of the gun is somewhere between very good and good. Thanks.

The 2nd model 1890 is a takedown version, early ones case hardened and the later ones blued. The 1st model was solid frame.

My guess for a good to very good late 2nd model in .22 Short would be in the $500 - $600 range, at least in this part of the country: upstate NY. Probably more in other areas.

Hope this helps and hope someone else will offer an opinion.

I have an Octagon barrel short only 1890 that my father found in the floor of the shed. My family has been on that farm since the early 1800's. so one of my great something must have owned it at some time. The wood is still nice but metal is pitted and patina. the riffling is all but gone with pitting in the barrel. But, it still shoots like a dream 50 yard pop cans hit every time. Wonder what one in good shape would do.
