I have a 20" round barrel lever action serial 258xxx in about 70% condition. The blueing is pretty much gone with normal wear in stock, but otherwise the rifle is fine. It is a standard model. I would like an idea of what it is worth.

    Welcome Crappie
If the barrel was and is originally 20 in. it should be the carbine. 60% thru 80% is classified as NRA GOOD
So in my book it is about $1600-$1800 and if it was still in Exc. shape about $2300-$2500. I don't have much experience with them so you might want some more input

Thanks for the input Southernshooter I know this guns history it was my Grandfather's gun. He has passed, but would be about 108 give or take a couple of years. The first time I saw it was over 50 years ago in Grandpa's closet and he told me it was the gun he used to hunt deer in Colorado. He also had a 24 inch octogan barrell 1892 25-20 I is a little more worn. I saw a series of pictures on the web site that looked about the same condition wise as the 25-20 and you pro's saw that gun at 70% as did I. My 38-40 is nicer than that but I would be hard pressed to say it is excellent. Perhaps the top end of the Good scale.
