here are some pics of my newly acquired winchester. It appears to be in very nice un messed with condition. would and metals have a wonderful patina. my wife and I both loved the "lyman" rear tang sight. I don't know if it is lyman or not, but still awesome. I wanted some Ideas as to a value with the period sights on it. I am looking for some .22 automatic for it. it is mechanically sound and well cared for over the years.

All the patent dates are crisp and clear, I just could not get a good enough shot.

Good luck in obtaining any .22 Win. Auto. Winchster used to turn out a batch every year or so, but I don't think they have done so for years. Unless I missed something, it is available today only at collector's prices.

If you call $30 a box collector prices, than it is available. I just got one box though.

I guess I will just have to enjoy this jewel by myself. After researching them on auction sights, I don't think you could give one away if you threw in a candy bar. I think it is a facinating little rifle, but I am in the minority.

I think your gun is really cool. It looks very used but not abused which to me gives it a lot of character.

When I first saw it, it brought back fond memories of when I was a teenager and went to visit my great uncle. He had one a lot more beat up than this one leaning up against the piano with a complete brick of ammo and some extra boxes in the seat. He ran a road house bar during the depression with his dad and some gangster hocked it and never returned to get it. I thought it was kind of cool that a gangster would rob a bank for money, but honestly pawn a gun at a bar, nontheless it made a good story. I might have to call my cousin and see where that brick of ammo went.
