Totally unscientific but it helped occupy my time today...10 of each-.44spl-7gr 231(each hand weighed)approx amount of dacron-240gr cast swc....
    CCI-972-993fps
    Wolf-1002-1052fps(9 were within 20fps)
    Chronoed at 10ft

Wish I could find either one locally. Everyone's stock is gone and they have no idea when it will be replaced. The only primers available around here are Remington. No WSP or CCI 500 to be had.

How does the primer have such an impact on velocity?

The larger the flash form the primer, the faster all the powder burns.

yep.. win primers flew off the shelp. no rems here either.

there was a tray or two of odd magnum cci the other day.. but i grabbed them for a small 'magnum' project..

hope to see some primers at the show this weekend. I'm considering getting a case.. or a few thou anyway. wolf or tula even...

i hate not having reloading supplies on the shelf
