Something to keep in mind. With a breakdown in society, resupply in parts will dry up.
i.e. the AR platform; How much CLP would one need to keep a rifle running for 50 yrs. How many cleaning patches, springs, o-rings, pipe cleaners will you need. How many spare barrels, stocks, magazines will one have on hand. The only way an AR will continue to be operational is to be in the hands of an Armorer with a bunker of supplies.
I love my semi-autos, but once they are broken, no mag, no ammo, it's time to drop it and fall back to the trusty Bolt Gun that will sing for another 100 yrs.
