If you were to use the term "skinny dipping" in front of an eight- or nine-year-old kid, would the kid know what you meant, or what he say, "Huh?"?

Don't care whether you skinny dip. Don't care whether the kid skinny dips. Don't care whether the kid's parents would approve of the kid skinny dipping.

All I want to know is, would the kid know the phrase?

    Whach y'all think?

In a comic I read, a woman used the term in front of her 8-year-old niece, and the girl said, "Swimming naked? Ewwwwww". In the comments, someone expressed surprise that a kid that young knew the term. So now I'm curious.

Kids know a whole lot more than we as parents/ grandparents give them credit for.

Yeah, kids know the term. I work with a few hundred each year.

They understand most of the old slang; they just don't use it.

I was skinney dippin' at 9. You would be surprised at what a 9 year old knows.

along with their lack of initiative, in general.

As far as the original question, I do think most kids would know the term.
