would like info on my H&R 38 s&w 925

    it is a MODEL 925 38 S&W left side of barrel / H&R INC.U.S.A. left side of frame between cylinder and trigger/ S on left side lower under one piece plastic grip / 279 under top strap/279 on double hole latch /278 on cylinder and star /AD 3278 right side of frame below cylinder that is all numbers on piece it does not say defender on it anywhere / it is a top break any info please

    H&R used the letter code AD in 1967.

    MODEL 925 DEFENDER SECOND MODEL --------------1964-1972
    Top Break, Double Action, 38 S&W Caliber, 5 Shot, Birds Head Grip, 22 rimfire 9 shot (dropped after first year), Blue finish, Barrel lengths 2½ & 4 inches Variations, 4 inch barrel made with Square Butt 1968-1969 and 1969 was last year 4 inch barrel offered
    VALUE: 100%=$235 60%=$145 Add 10 % premium for 4” barrel; add 75% premium of 4” barrel in 22 rimfire caliber; add 15% premium for matte-black finish

    MODEL 925 DEFENDER THIRD MODEL (TRANSFER BAR IGNITION)--1973-1978
    Top Break, Double Action, 38 S&W Caliber, 5 Shot, Birds Head Grip, Blue finish, Barrel lengths 2½ only
    VALUE: 100%=$235 60%=$110

    the model name "defender" was not marked on these revolver but was used in the catalogs

    judge,
    Out of curiosity - does your 925 have a "polished blue" or "matte black" finish?
    The matte black seems to be quite a bit less common.
