I'm looking for information on the value of an old Colt single action it has a serial of 99xxx is a 4 3/4 gun in the caliber of 44 wcf. There is a light etch/engraving on the barrel that says "colt frontier six shooter" The gun is tight with most finish worn off and overall a grayish color. Pics available upon request. I'm just looking at a ballpark idea not exact figure.

Sounds like you have one of the highly desirable etched barrel Colts. Collectors go really nuts over these. The book quotes the value of one of these with only 10% finish at $4,000. In mint condition they can get up to $35,000 or more. Since you have a 4 3/4 inch barrel, you add 20% to the total. Now these are only very rough guidelines. Colt collectors are like people in the diamond business. You really have to have it appraised by a highly qualified, trustworthy authority with many years of experience.
