I have a Suomi m31,by many concidered as one of the best machine guns in ww2.My weapon is made on license by the swedish Husqvarna in the late 30`s.Anybody who can fill me in on some more details about this type of weapon, maybe how much it can be worth?got it one year ago from my late grandfather ,who fought alongside the Finnish in the "Winterwar" against the russians in the 40´s.
A really excellent weapon. The father of the also very successful Russian PPsh series.
Value is going to depend on it's ability to be sold where you are. Are folk allowed to have full auto weapons and if on a licence, how many? Can you buy and sell them freely and legally? A full auto smg in the States can cost thousands of dollars, in some parts of Africa about fifty. $50.00! In parts of South America a couple of hundred or so.
Many years ago machine guns were permitted to be registered with the US government. Eventually the registration process was terminated, and now only those machine guns registered during that period can be legally owned. All others are now subject to confiscation in addition to criminal penalties. Legally registered machine guns today sell for $5000 to $5000, depending on model and condition.
