A friend of mine showed this gun to me recently. His father brought it back from WWII. What ever you can tell me will be appreciated.

Hello Dave, Attached you will find the image for the gun and case.I was told that the gun was from WW II and is a German 32.It was hard to zoom in on the writing. The writing on the gun is as follows:
    > Dreyse Rheinische Metallwaaren -& Maschinenfabrik
    > Abt.Sommerda
    > R.F.V. No. 4743
    > #221460 is on top of gun
    > Gun measures 6-1/4" long x 4"

Looks to me like a Dreyse Model 1907, chambered for 7.65mm (.32 Auto). They were made from 1907-1919 and were used by Imperial Germany in World War I.

Value around $225-$250 if in VG condition.
