Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Company was a hardware & sporting goods company formed in 1882. In 1962 it was sold and later became Tru-Value Hardware. They sold any number of "Store-Brand" guns over the years, so to find out the original manufacturer, pictures will be needed. Even then it might be difficult to identify.
Well, I'll admit that one is beyond me.... Hopefully someone who is into old hammer doubles will recognize the maker. It could even be an European import that HSB branded.
Are there any proof marks anywhere on the receiver or barrel?
