    britian firearm crime numbers

Look at the increase for the years after strict gun control laws (96). If it does on open try this. http://www.statistics.gov.uk/STATBASE/ssdataset.asp?vlnk=7783

The US is at fbi stats Look specificly at http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/cius_02/xl/02tbl01.xls
The national murder rate from 93-03 is down 33% (f-33 on the execl spreedsheet) Now those are numbers straight from the goverments. most numbers dont lie.

"Gun control? It's the best thing you can do for crooks and gangsters. I want you to have nothing. If I'm a bad guy, I'm always gonna have a gun. Safety locks? You will pull the trigger with a lock on, and I'll pull the trigger. We'll see who wins." -- Former Mafia hit man turned informant Sammy "the Bull" Gravano

An ex mafia hit man said that it does not get more blunt than that. Criminals are called such for a reason they dont follow the laws so if we make laws taking all guns away the criminals would still have them. Going back to britians crime stats they still have gun crime. and no guns are suppose to be there. I guess someone forgot to give them the memo.

Thats all I got for my soap box hope the links helped you out if they dont reply back and ill repost them.

If he wants a safer and better world, then the

solution would be to put EVERYONE behind bars,

including him, and that would solve all problems ! ?

Can't help much at the moment, I would have to research it myself and I just don't have time.
Newspapers stats are of little use because they will simply publish whatever is the most sensational. To Aus newspapers all firearms are "High powered" and all illegal uses "crazed gunmen".
This is not because they are antigun, but simply because pushing the fear button sells papers.
A personal peception is that illeagle firearms have never been easier to get and crimes like drive by shooting are on the increase.
It has always been an Australian tradition that only "serious" crims used firearms, and the occasional "crazy", but now (since the ban" any AH can, and all too often does get his hands on them. Crime like shooting in clubs and pubs, instead of punching it out are on the increase.
GUN CONTROL AUS STYLE IS NOT WORKING. All it does is deny guns to the lawabiding. My collection is, by law, very limited. If I chose to ignore the law I could get just about anything.

This type cannot, and will not accept that the world is a dangerous place. It always has been, and presumebly always will be. It is, I'm afraid, in the nature of the beast. They want to make the world a safe place; It isn't!! They will never understand that they cannot change this by simply making it ileagle. Most of what they fear is already ileagle and that doesn't help one little bit.

They are not thinking, they are reacting to their own fear of the real world. and any argument you offer will fall on deaf ears.
Forget it, don't try, it's a waste of breath.

This is fascinating indeed. Your perspective is most valuable.
Please educate us further on Australian firearms laws. For example., Are there maximum caliber restrictions?, barrell length restrictions?, magazine/clip capacity restrictions?
How receptive is the Australian government when you petitioned them for reform? Is the Western Australian Provincial Government semi autonomous? Do they set policy in Perth for the entire province, or do you answer to Canberra directly? I need to familiarize myself with the Crown Commonwealth history of firearms laws, even though Australia has withdrawn from the Commonwealth, how has that impacted the laws? Thanks for your input. This is fascinating. I am always curious about other nation's firearms policy.

Also, are those who are the biggest proponents of firearms misery and totalitarianism in any way connected to the agents of global bolshevism such as George Soros, Diane Fienstein, and Coffi Annan?
Do they belong to the Australian Socialist party and other proponents of global domination and a one world government.? Has the Australian public been educated about their intentions to enslave the Australian continent?

Here are two items that are a necessary read for one in your position. The first will have all the answers to most of your questions from a real expert, Dr. John Lott. The second is a book by a South African who has researched the Christian ethic for self defence, including biblical references each step of the way. These books are an essential in every library of a person that truly believes in the RKBA.

"The Bias Against Guns", John R. Lott, Jr., Regenary Publishing, 2003.

"Shooting Back - The Right and Duty of Self-Defence", Charl Van Wyk, Christian Liberty Books.

I purchased the former for $9.95 from Conservitive Book Club, original price $27.95; The later was from ShopNetDaily the book arm of WorldNetDaily for $13.80.

Here is a synopsis of Van Wyk's book:

Grenades were exploding in flashes of light. Pews shattered under the blasts, sending splinters flying through the air. An automatic assault rifle was being fired and was fast ripping the pews - and whoever, whatever was in its trajectory - to pieces. We were being attacked!

Instinctively, I knelt down behind the bench in front of me and pulled out my .38 special snub-nosed revolver, which I always carried with me. I would have felt undressed without it. Many people could not understand why I would carry a firearm into a church service, but I argured that this was a particularly dangerous time in South Africa....

Charl van Wyk was an ordinary Christian man until the day he was called upon to be extraordinary. The date was 25 July 1993 and the event was what was to become known as the St James Massacre. Charl was catapulted to the media's attention by shooting back at the terrorists who attacked the innocent congregation.

    This is his story.

"Shooting Back" deals with the burning questions that plague all God-fearing people:

    Should we carry arms?

When is it appropriate to defend ourselves and our families?

What can we do when our freedom to carry arms is legislated away from us?

Hope this helps you and all on the TFF who have posed your same question.

This is too much to answer simply. Start a new thread with the questions broken down to point form and I'll give it a go, and anyone else can chime in as they wish.:D  :D
