I was glad to help! I appreciate anyone who takes the time to restore these older revolvers. They are a piece of Americana that gets pushed to the rear behind the so called "modern guns".
      Thank you!

That's the way it is supposed to look. It might function fine after a cleaning and lube.

Thanks for the help Ron. I disassembled the gun, looked it'd been wet at some point. Cleaned it in the ultrasonic tank, put it back together an it's working good. That's the first 999 of that era I've had apart. Thanks to guys like you with a good eye and the experience to go with it I was able to get it working again. Definitely appreciate the help and want to stay in touch. Russell

      Russell,
That hand looks to be in good condition. Are you sure the wire spring was in the tiny hole in your trigger?

Is that the way the spring is supposed to look? When I opened it up there was rust on all the springs an other parts. Looked like it had been wet at some point. Ran it thru the ultrasonic cleaner and the rust is gone. May try putting it back together making sure the spring is in the trigger hole and see what it does now.
