My youngest son (his 25th birthday tomorrow), his wife and two of his good friends are going to the range with me tomorrow (all experienced shooters)
Besides the rifles in the pic- CMMG AR-15, the CAI AK-47 model GP1975, the Savage Axis II .223 and the Mosin 91/30 we are taking a Henry .22lr lever action rifle and 5 handguns:
- Ruger GP100 4" .357mag
- Ruger 22/45 Lite .22lr
- Ruger SR22 .22lr
- Ruger SR1911 9mm lightweight
And a Canik TP9SA 9mm 18+1 in FDE
Should be a fun day... my wife is cooking cornbeef and cabbage for us to have after the shoot
Finally made it today. 100 yard range. 100 rounds of 22LR. Not enough elevation on my scope, grabbed a bunch of target 'dots' out of the garbage can at the range and shimmed the back ring. 25 moa pic rail on order.
AR with JP springs. Nice trigger feel but I was getting too many 'failed to fires". Didn't look like a light hit but I'll put the original Windam hammer spring back in and see how it does. Never a problem before. Wind came up, blew everyone's rifle cases off the bench (G). The shooters who were practicing 'accuracy' weren't too happy. Me, I just kept killing paper for 120 rounds..
Sun's out, guns out! My commute to the range today.
And my S-22 target at 260 yards with my Trapdoor trying out a slightly differentry load (64 gr, more compressed, 510 gr bullet)
I finally made it out myself with a few buddies. Brought some bullet resistant glass with us. Fun shooting there. Over all was great shooting. Even tho my gas key on my ar came loose.
I'll be there tomorrow ( Mon.) looks like we have a decent day lined up.
