I have been looking for a new gun belt and was wondering what the Velcro lining is for?
Can someone post a pic of it? It is an optional choice on Tucker and Byrd's site and on Beltman belts.
Cops use KEEPERS on their Sam Browne belts. Little leather loops that attach the gun belt to the trouser belt. And since the trouser belt is going through belt loops, IT stays in place, keeping the GUN BELT in place - when you draw your gun the belt/holster doesn't come up with it. The modern version of tying your holster to your leg.
I think the velcro is the same purpose. One half on the inside of the gun belt and the other half on the outside of the trouser belt, and it holds the gun belt in place.
If it's anything like Crossbreed's belt then the velcro lining is on the inside of the belt and it's intended to be used with velcro clips, like these:
I use these daily. The clip just comes up over the pants and then down on the inside of the belt, so even with a shirt tucked in they're all but invisible.
I was thinking it might be kind of like the competition double belts. When I decide to order, I'll just ask then and see what they say about it, and I will let everyone know.
Did you see the answer Beltman gives? Maybe it helps you?
"What is the "Velcro® brand strip" option?
Beltman offers a loop Velcro® brand liner on the inside of the entire usable length of the belt. This is for use with Concealed Carry IWB holsters that utilize a V-clip mounting system. It cannot be added to a finished belt. It is sewed to the inside layer during its construction. It does not add much "thickness" to the belt, and it prevents the holster from shifting on the belt. "
I have three of Beltman's belts, and highly recommend them, one without stiffener, two with. Unless you are carrying something heavy, like a 1911, a stiffener is not really needed, in my opinion... My Beltman belt without a stiffener I wear more, as it is brown, and I wear more brown, and have had no issues with it not holding the holster to my body. It is probably eight or nine years old, maybe more, and still is stiff.
It's to help hold your BVDs up. Pull them above the waist of your pants and roll them over and then press the belt against them.
