Friend back east during the '70s carried a Model 58 as his regular service revolver (rest of the department had 4" Model 10s). He's about 6'6", probably nudging the 275/300lb. mark, and everything about him - uniform, duty belt etc. was XXL, so nobody seemed to notice the outsized Smith. When he made detective the Smith Model 19 2 1/2" he was issued looked like a kid's toy in his big mitt.
