I am just wondering if I am crazy or not. I like my Single Action Heritage Rough Rider 6 shot Revolver 22 LR that I bought new in 2013 better then the Single Action Colt Peace Maker 6 shot Revolver 22 LR I inherited from my Father in law that he Purchased back in the 1970's. I like the Safety on it so I can load all six rounds instead of 5 rounds on the Peace maker. The barrel is thicker and seems to be good quality. What do you guys think of these Single Action 22 LR Revolvers from Heritage ?

Ive bought 2 of them plus a 357 color case hardened and i love all 3 of them. I gave my nephew one of the 22's (lr only) and he shoots it ALOT.

One of mine, steel framed called the "johnny boy" , id hate to say how many rounds ive shot thru it. Shoots better than any other 22 pistol i own including my ruger even though its the ugliest one. I HAD to put cocabola grips and an engraved cyl to try and pretty it up a little. I did action/trigger jobs on all of them.

They are fantastic guns well beyond their price. So much so that until i read this i thought everybody knew.

The only thing negative ive heard other than non performance related things like cheap looks, having a safety or the standard ones having pot metal frames is the hands tend to break almost certainly from ppl fanning them as ive never had one go down yet.

A week ago, I found a used, great condition, Colt Frontier Scout .22LR SAA Buntline for dirt cheap...and bought it. Liked it so much I went looking for a 4 3/4" barrel version, only to find they are big money! So I looked around and bought a Heritage Rough Rider, in that length, with a good blue finish and fake Ivory grips, 2 cylinders, NIB, for about $189...about 1/3 the price of a Colt...which anyway, is no longer made.
FWIW, the Colt Scout has a non - steel frame, too, so I don't see too much of a problem there, since my Colt .22 was made in 1966, when I was in high school, and it's still tight as new.

Back in the early 60's I lived in Connecticut and owned two Colt .22 Frontier Scouts. Loved the grip and overall handling. A job move back to New York forced me to sell my Colts or become an instant criminal in NY, due to their ridiculous gun laws.

In 1978 I moved to Florida and was able to own hand guns again and soon purchased a Ruger Single Six and a Super Single Six. Both Rugers were built like an anvil but the grips never did fit my hand like the Colts.

In the past few years I've purchased three Heritage Rough Rider .22 Single actions and they feel the same as my old Colts. I love the feel and balance.
