Story in my local paper today. Woman here's someone in her apartment, pulls her compact .380, her door is forced open, she shoots thru the door hitting the person in the torso, putting him down and in the hospital in critical condition. When, if he recovers, there will be questions. ( he was one of 3 room mates in the apartment, so its an odd deal. The who, why, hasn't been established, the 3rd party I being questioned, etc, why was the door trying to be forced, etc )
Beyond that.. Sounds like a 380 was plenty enough to put an average adult down into crit condition with a single torso shot.
My S&W 1911 love them. They make me look like I can shoot
Now I will know just what they will do. And I will be more confident on there expansion and penetration.
Did you get extra ribs for the BBQ?.
Mike
Hornady critical defense will be the only self def round. Depending how those turn out, I might push a fmj thru to show how much they penetrate, which I presume will be basically thru the backstop.
Ok, cool. That will be a fun test for you. You definitely have a good plan and set-up for near real world SD results. Your pics of the gel looked good and clear. Nice job soundguy.
I need to go back yote hunting. A group of us predator hunt a good bit and me and another guy have done some testing of new ammo on them a few times after harvesting them. Mostly some handloads and new rounds that look to be promising. Never did head to head tests with bullet vs diff bullet or caliber on caliber. Idk how close to human tissue they are either. Like someone on here said they used pigs, that's prob alot closer to human tissue. We can get yote's way easier around here so that's what we have tried in the past. That and BG, and one Sat we tried wet papers.
If i remember correctly you were gonna try 380 and 45 or just 45? The only 380 round i would carry after what ive seen is the xtreme penatrator. That's what my buddy thats tested with me carrys now.
Good luck on your testing, should be fun and informative.
