Introducing someone to shooting is a rich experience. Well done.
You are a good coach.
Last weekend we had a special "guest fun shoot" at the club. I watched as a new member introduced his wife to shooting his bolt action .22. She was having trouble holding steady with her arms on the bench, so I brought out my bench rest. She was so happy as she just about shot the center out of the target. He had a go with the bench rest and was very happy. Then I brought out my gallery rifle (lever action .357). Her eyes got big, she had a great big smile as I showed them how it worked. Then they both had a go at it. Her immediate response was "I need to join the club so we can get one of those." She took her targets home.
Later we had a fun competition; I let them use my 10-22 for that.
This weekend: we had our company BBQ at an outdoor activity center. Among the activities on offer were airgun shooting, archery, and clay pigeon shooting. Later I went out to my club and finished off the boxes of ammo I had started last weekend.#
Next weekend we have a gallery rifle "1500" competition...150 rounds from various positions (standing, kneeling, sitting, strong side, weak side) and ranges from 10 yards to 50 yards, target face times from 2 minutes to 3 seconds. I'll go to have fun and make everyone else look good.
