The Glock Gen 5 pistols are starting to ship out.
An LEO posted a picture of his paperwork where he preorderd one
It has been talked about alot. What are some of the changes?
Here is a short list of some anticipated changes. I would guess many of these came about from the FBI switching to Glock 17M and being awarded that contract last year
I went looking for some more information on this pistol, and found that there are a few problems with these newly released pistols. Still, as I get older, and my arthritis gets stronger, I might try to shoot a few pistols in 9mm at the Sept. BBQ. Recoil used to not bother me much in a pistol, not so any more.
Well accepting the 9mm is really not so hard these days. I was definitely one of the big and slow or really fast and light, 45acp 357 mag guys. With modern bullets the nine is a pretty darn good round. Is it better than 357 or 45? From a one shot performance standpoint.....no but overall it's a well balanced option bringing capacity , light recoil and cheap ammo to the table.
I do not like Glocks. Never have.
But every time I want a new gun I make a list of what features I want on the gun. And every time there is a Glock that fits all the criteria. They are well made guns that do what they are supposed to do every time you want it to do it.
Still can't buy one though. The grip angle and trigger do not work for me.
Well, he said he wouldn't own something with 5 upgrade changes, and Smith dash revolvers are all upgrade changes...
Just checking to make sure, .. that's all
I've read a lot of your posts and thought I kinda knew what your reaction to some ribbing might be.....I was a bit wrong. Like you say it is the net. I thought your reaction would be more along the lines of posting a couple of those sticking tongue out emogy thingies followed by a picture of some tiny groups......
I've always liked Glocks; I actually owned one of the first Glock 17s in the country back in the 'way-backs.' It was an excellent gun. I've had several over the years and have a Glock 23 now. Damn good gun, but I decided I need to get a 9mm conversion simply for logistic reasons.
Two things though- while they're a great tool they haven't got the history and character i enjoy in so many of my other guns. It's a superb tool, but to me it's just a tool. Other people feel differently, and that's all to the good.
Of course the fact that I like and respect these guns doesn't mean I won't rib someone about 'em...
I am one of the inbetweens, gvw... I own one, not crazy about it, but it is a fine firearm. Never failed to go "pew"... I bought it to see what all the hubub was about... now I know. And I can rib db honestly... (there is a such thing as being obsessive...)
I bought my first Glock a few months ago because almost all the 10 mm were smaller magazines than the Glock 40 which is 15+1.
I look forward to factory Glock rifled barrels so I can shoot hardcast. The available aftermarket barrels are tighter match grade barrels with some that don't shoot the hardcast well at all.

I thought that the polygonal rifling in the Glock barrels didn't lend itself to shooting hardcast well. That and the unsupported portion of the case at the feed ramp on the Glock barrel are what made me go for a Lone Wolf replacement barrel. Am I missing something here?
Carried a 1911 for 35yrs-still do when I'm local......when I leave my AO,it's a G19 with ETS 22rd mags(with 20)....the result of 8yrs of a racist muslim in the WH and the general mental illness which seems to effect city dwellers.Extra barrel/extractor in truck.
I won't knock a Glock, they are fine firearms. But they won't shoot worth a hoot n holler for me. I guess if I had one, and practiced with it, it would get better. But I just can't bring myself to want one.
Very happy with my current Glock 21, Would not consider another Model now.
Zant Said it more better than I could of said, 100% Agree.
