The Glock Gen 5 pistols are starting to ship out.
An LEO posted a picture of his paperwork where he preorderd one
It has been talked about alot. What are some of the changes?
Here is a short list of some anticipated changes. I would guess many of these came about from the FBI switching to Glock 17M and being awarded that contract last year
Wife went to a 'Girls Night' at our local indoor range. One of the women brought her Glock 19.
My wife comes home raving about how much fun it was, but She did not like the finger grooves.
IF ANYONE HERE TELLS HER ABOUT THE GEN 5s I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN AND STEAL ALL OF YOUR LEFT SHOES!!!
I own a Glock 34 Gen 4 but I'd take a real good look at the M&P 2.0 if I was buying a 9mm. I bought a Shield over the 43 Glock because I think it's a better pistol.
If I ever owned a glock, As Zant explained I would also feel comfortable carrying a extra barrel, extractor, return spring, firing pin, and maybe a slide just in case. OH... wait a minute!
Love or hate them , Glocks are reliable, nobody can argue that much
The majority of police departments carry them and if they were not reliable, that would not be the case
So after watching and reading a ton of reviews it appears that Glock pulled a Steve Jobs trick on everyone; Make a few insignificant changes and all the FanBoys will buy the same product again.
I handled a couple at my LGS, the fit and finish seemed sub-par. I have heard of many complaints about the sights being WAY off from the factory. But people are still buying them, so yay Glock. You just slapped all your buyers in the face with a big "Ha Ha, screw you" and they said thank you for it.
IMO people should NOT buy these guns. Let Glock know that we will not accept a sub-par gun from a company who's motto is "Perfection"
If people speak with their wallets, Glock will listen and start making a better product. But if people keep buying anything they put out, they will keep putting out junk.
Too bad to, I really wanted to like the new Glocks. I was hoping they would do something great.
Stopped by the range today to grab some supplies.
Everyone is talking about the Gen 5's that, of course, we can not get here anyway.
I said I was not a fan mainly because of the trigger.
Guy there offers to let me shoot his G19 with an Apex trigger. (Had aftermarket truglo sights too)
What a difference! I can barely get a Glock to go 'Bang' but the Apex trigger has the safety thingy hinged at the top of the trigger, not in the middle like a stock Glock. It made all the difference in the world.
He also had an Apex on a Smith & Wesson M&P. That gun was a joy to shoot. (Not a fan of the hinged stock trigger)
Hickock45 got a Glock Gen 5. (2 actually)
Great guy, love his videos. But when I was watching I noticed something.
Jump to about 34:26 (And several other points in the vid where you can get a close up, like at 31:53)
The sights are WAY off center. I have heard of a few people talking about this.
But here is the weird part; The gun shoots accurately.
Question -
What kind of problem could a gun be having that you have to adjust the sights that far off to one side?
He shoots so fast his sights have to be adjusted like that to account for the rotation of the earth
