I'm looking at some 165 gr. PRN Frontier bullets to try in a .40 S&W. has anyone used the Frontier bullets? How to they shoot and do you like them. Any problems to watch for. Etc.
I'm assuming you mean by weight, type and jacketed or lead?
Otherwise if you're using what they specify by name brand, you're limiting yourself on some really good bullets on the market today!
I have shot some 147 gn. 9mm frontiers, the ones coming in a blue plastic case. They performed decent but not great at 25 yards but my 9mm barrel is notoriously finicky with plated bullets.
What are you planning to use them for? If they are cheap and you are only shooting at max. 15 yards I'd buy them in a heartbeat, otherwise I would buy a few and test them first.
Hornady is good. Not the best IMO but good. I'm personally sold on Sierra, in just about any caliber, but they cost more than the usual bullets. Nosler too. When I load match, I load Sierra, but just plinking ammo, whatever is on sale and close to weights I can reload for.
I use Xtreme plated bullets in which should be very similar to those Frontier plated bullets. I find that Hornady FMJ load data works very well for plated bullets. Some say to use lead data which results in lower velocity, but I've not had any issues up to 1200 FPS with the Xtreme bullets.

Just asking about the brand name. Have shot Berry's bullets and was wondering how these compared to other brands. Just wanted them for plinking. New to reloading and worry about being safe in what I do.

Just using them for plinking. I wish companies would sell a sample pack of 20 so you could try their bullets without having to buy 250 or 500 only to find out you don't care for them.
May be Mac, but I have had great success with Hornady bullets. They shoot true, and expand on impact. What more could I want? Are there better bullets out there? Maybe, but why fix what ain't broke!
I'm loading/shooting Nosler 135gr. right now, but they are a bit pricey for just plinking. Can't find a plated bullet in 135gr. so far. Same goes for Hornady and Sierra, shoot good but costly for just having a fun day at the range.
Thanks to everyone for the info. I load Speer's and Berry's plated bullets for my 9MM, but wasn't sure how the plated bullets would work in a shell (.40 S&W) with a little more umph than the 9. Thanks again for your responses.
