Many years ago, a member of this forum sent me his purple heart. I am trying to find him. I know that he married and had a son. I would like to send it back to him or his son. This would have been 2002 or around then. He was from Arkansas and painted guns in Camo colors. Any help would be appreciated.

Best of luck to you in your search, Sherry! I tried a search on both of the names you posted, but neither produced a result. Perhaps someone who has been here longer than I have will remember him and put you in touch with him. In the meantime, welcome to the Forum!:D

Good Morning Sherry from Arizona...I have been on board here since the very beginning and
that was before THE FIREARMS FORUM when the network, MS/NBC introduced a program
called Vietnam Memories Bulletin Board...I have mentioned this so many times over the
years that the network shut-down exactly a year to the day it began...A sportsman from
Vermont Steve/JD/TAC kept it up and running with a request to me to post the many
stories I had written on his chosen site, to be named TFF...I have an old list and a former
Marine listed who called himself Sixty-Gunner or gunner Rick....the e-mail address I have
here on this ancient list is: semiauto@netins.net.... You know with avatars, I am just going
to assume his name was Rick...we corresponded frequently as we were in Vietnam the same
time within 4 miles of one another...he in the Marines at Hue and I with the Navy Sea Bees
north at Dong Ha. I recall Rick just dropping off the planet so to speak...I do recall him
as having a small daughter that he spoke of often...Good Luck with your quest...chief

Get with these people
Maybe can find him

Thank you. I'm going to give it a try. He deserves to have it back. It was sent to me at the time because I took an interest and not many people did. I accepted it gladly and have kept it safe.
Due to recent circumstances in my life I realize that sometimes the things we leave behind are the only things that the people you leave behind have. A physical connection to a life gone too soon.
Perhaps he has someone close to him now that he would like to share it with and can't because it's in a safe in a small town in West Virginia.
