I'd leave it black, it could go on any gun later. Since it is a flashlight, no bad guy will see the color anyway, just a bright light, then maybe a flash..
A friend of mine was pretty proud of his new field dressing Knife where even the blade was painted "mossy oak".
Set it down after cleaning his deer last season, and never found it.
While it does not make much difference to me directly, I would ask "If it makes a difference at the BarBQue meet", then paint. If you have way more time on your hands, then paint. If your wife likes the way the colors blend with your outfit then paint. If none of the above makes any difference, then leave it alone.
It's tool, for crying out loud. not a fashion statement.
But in the end it is yours, do what you will, we will not stand in your way.
