post up your deer you have harvested! I have gotten 1 doe which I usually do at the start of the season. I never see bucks by me until nov 1-10th. This doe dressed at 110lbs.
Nice. Bow season has started, but I couldn't hit the ground with an arrow. Muzzleloader starts next month . The deer should have memorized the hunting season schedule by then.
I took one look at that picture and thought that's an Ohio buck. I then saw your from Ohio! Good luck with that one! Dragging that big bastid out of the woods I mean
Well popped a decent 6 point tonight which is the first decent buck I've seen since I built my blind. They are now getting used to it 3 years later. I'm also happy to report my pics have tripled this year with many small bucks and tons of does around. I'm guessing last years mild winter helped given the two winters prior. I've only got my trophy tag left(four points on one side) which is bittersweet given early October. I guess it's not a bad problem to have! Cheers gents and good luck hunting! I look forward to new posts on this thread!
We don't hunt them but we do have deer. Here is the first large buck of this year; in the meadow just over a hundred yards from the back deck. View attachment 131583
The dead one is the one I bagged last year. The live one is the one I passed up because it was too big! Actually, I let it walk because I did not have formal permission to hunt on the land it was walking at the time. I asked the farmer that night if it was okay to shoot on his property and he called me
an idiot for passing up that buck! At least now I know!
Also, understand the picture was from a trail cam a week before about 1/4 mile from where I saw him at 3:30 in the afternoon, standing in the field 75 yards away, munching on grass with a doe.
Good luck! The weather is getting better here in Michigan. Had 40 degree morning where I could finally wear jeans and a long sleeve shirt. It finally felt like fall!
First doe I've ever taken. Weighed in right at 200. Was a pain because i dropped her walking with my crossbow she jumped up out of the creek from me 10 yards away. I dropped to one knee she saw me and just squatted and started pooping so now she's in my freezer lol. I had to drag her away through all kinds of crap.
Get a jet sled and deer drag harness. May cost you 40 bucks or so, but will help so much. I use mine constantly. Nice job on the doe... sounds like you scared the sh** outta her.
