12 gauge from hell vs watermelon. Didn't get a center shot :( but still impressive nonetheless

My grandpa and uncle shot it for the first time. They both loved it. My grandpa's face was priceless

Couple videos with new powder. Recoil is getting pretty stout.

Here is the last load tested

616 gr slug at 1790 FPS

    4383 FT-LBS at the muzzle

136 LBS of recoil at 28.28 FPS

Thanks! But this is not my wildcat, this has been around for a while but it's not very well known. I'm trying to shine a little light on it though. I do have a wildcat that I am making though called 620 FE. It utilizes 50 bmg brass and a .620" 900gr solid (same as 600 nitro express). I have a thread on it. I'm having a custom falling block made for it.

Lol it's quite the fun little pea shooter. I wish everyone could experience it.

Are not new cartridges exceeding 0.500” put in a different ATF classification?

Yes, I have sent the firearms tech division several emails and am waiting for a response on how to get a "sporting use exemption". Things like the 700 nitro and the 950 jdj have recieved the exemption, so it shouldn't be too big of a stretch to get mine approved. It's been like 3 months though and they still haven't sent me a response yet...

Got some HOT loads tested today. One load came to 1830 fps the other load was way stouter and had no velocity reading due to low light... but it was violent

Sorry for the poor quality, I was losing light fast and wanted to get readings. This is pretty much just a display of recoil. Ordering clear ballistics gel soon to have a really good test video

First load 1,746 fps = 4,170 FT-LBS of energy and 133 LBS of recoil

Second load 1,827 FPS = 4,566 FT-LBS of energy and 142 LBS of recoil

Third load 1,923 FPS = 5,059 FT-LBS of energy and 163 LBS of recoil!

Last one surprised me a bit. Definitely rattles the ole' brain. Things are getting interesting.

New record for velocity! Been using 50 bmg die to increase neck tension. I found fittings at work to get more height and adjustment out of the die. The base of the 50 bmg die will fit 12 gauge, but the further you go into the die the more taper you get into. Therefore I can control how much tension I have. It's pretty much a taper crimp. I found a sweet spot of .004" tension and found that this greatly improved velocity. For example, prior to increasing tension it took 220 gr of RE17 to get to 1700 fps. With .004" of tension it took 200 gr to get 1754 fps with the 615gr slug. That's incredible. With 220 gr of RE17 and .002" I got 1933 fps with the same slug. That's 5103 ft-lbs of muzzle energy. Next one should be interesting. 225 gr with .004 . Hopefully will break into 2000 fps territory. I have started to limit my number of shots with it a day. Past 1700 fps I limit myself to two shots. I shot 4 back to back and had a splitting headache for about 12 hours.

The 50 bmg FL die. Looks goofy, but works very good and is consistent.
