Would someone like to share their pet load (bullet, powder & charge) for the 22-250 with a 26 inch barrel? I am having a heck of a time getting rifle fine tuned.
Thanks!

Rocket,
I'm actually heading to the range this afternoon, weather permitting, with a batch of test load using 760 powder and 50 gr. v-max bullets. I'll post results tomarrow.

I shot four 5 shot groups of 37, 38, 39, and 40 grains of win 760 with a 50 grain v-max bullet. The results were: 40gr- 1", 39gr-3/4", 38gr-1 1/8" and 37gr-1 1/2". The 38gr load, however, did have 4 shots at 3/8" with one flyer spreading it out to 1 1/8". The next batch I'll load will be 3 shot groups starting at just under 38 grains with 3/10 increments up to the max at 41 grains. My rifle is a Ruger 77mk II 26" bull barrel stainless. I've had this rifle a couple of years, but only recently started working loads for it. The one thing this rifle does need is a trigger job. I've heard some say Rugers are'nt that accurate, but I think with a little more tweaking, this one will do better. Don't get discouraged if you don't get desired results right away. Keep trying different components untill you get something it likes.

Shooter,
I've been thinking about trying Varget. It looks like it might do well in my .243 as well,

Thanks for the input!
Maybe this rifle (Rem 700 VS) does not like 55 gr bullets. I've used it with 5 different powders at 3 different charges for each powder and so far nothing works. Time to try different bullets. The 55's worked great in my Ruger #1
