.223 primer problem/with pics

    having trouble getting the primers seated in these cases. can any one tell me what needs to be done. looks like the pockets are off center. im using the rcbs hand priming tool. thanks in advance

    Looks like military crimps which will have to be removed before you will be able to seat a primer. You can purchase expensive swagers (sp) to remove them or you can purchase cheap hand operated reamers to do the job. Personally, I bought a very inexpensive Lyman Case Preperation kit that is hand operated (about $30). I have also used a Lee Chamfer tool (about $3.00)

    I thought military crimps were in brass labled LC with the nato cross? not remington??

    Thats great, did you just chuck the chamfer tool? Thats really thinking outside the box Teddy, way to go! I hope you don't charge royalties if I "borrow" your idea - HA!

    LC is Lake City... FYI They only make military ammo w/ that stamp.

    well i started out doing it by hand, and since im 25 and my arthritis was kicking in:D i just chucked it in the drill, it fit nicely. tried a few and it worked. so yes go ahead and try it. i need to find the water proof juice that seals the primers. whats it called and where do you get it?

    Great idea, I have about 500 .223 brass pieces that i need to do the same thing to, thanks for the great idea!!

    came in the press kit, but rcbs has em. try cabellas or bass pro
