I am new the the forum, just wanted to share a story of a home invasion that happened last night in Saginaw, MI.
Thursday night at 11:00pm a 29 year old woman was home alone. There was a knock at the front door. When she went to see who was there two men broke through the back door and yelled POLICE, GET DOWN. Knowing it wasn't the Police she made a break for the bedroom to retrieve her legally registered firearm. The three men opened fire on her. She was struck in the torso and the leg before she could get her weapon. She returned fire and hit one man multiple times severing his spine, the other two fled the scene. Another win for the good guys.

Ox,
Thanks for sharing the story. (I'm from MI too). Honestly, I am somewhat shocked that the "media" ran the story since it puts a firearm in a positive light (showing the benefit of a firearm as a defensive equalizer). Ya gotta wonder how many of these incidents never make the news.

Sierratimes.com reports on many defensive shootings (and non-shootings.) I can't seem to get them up this morning, but they have a section devoted to gun defense news.

armedandsafe,
I'll check it out....thanks. I meant it's a shame our local biased media (print/tv/radio) can't inform the general public when these incidents occur; they seem to report only gun-toting criminal...
