Me and buddy need a load for his ruger international .308, it has the wood all the way to the end of the barrel and i think a 20'' barrel. I would also like to know if you would use a slow or fast powder for a short barrel such as this? Thanks for the info.

As far as load info goes, I'm going to advise you check out your nearest load manual.
For the 20" barrel I would probably lean towards one of the faster recommended powders. The way I choose powders is based partly on barrel length. Shorter barrels tend to lean me towards faster powders, and vica versa.

Just as important...What is the twist rate of the barrel?
    Fast twist-heavy bullet
    Slow twist-lighter bullet.
Or do I have that backwards?
Just like men, the length is not that important! :D

Most loading manuals will give you that info. powder burn speed/twist rates.
