You may want to take this over to the Colt Forum. My Wilson book does not even show that number ( 822828, no prefix or suffix ). The .41 was introduced in 1885 and a total of 16,402 were manufactured.:confused:

True. I can't find anything about a Colt with numbers that large. Pre-war went to 357000, post war went through 99999SA, then to SA01001 up through SA99999, then to S(number)A, and are up around S150000A.

I be puzzled. Oh, and that looks like 822928, to me, not 828. :)


What's the number on the trigger guard and the bottom of the frame?
